Biography of Tim Meadows

With the beginning of this season, Tim Meadows begins his tenth season as a cast member on "Saturday Night Live," making him one of the longest running cast members in the show's history, alongside Kevin Nealon and Phil Hartman.
Meadows joined the cast of "SNL" in February 1991 and quickly established himself as a versatile comedic performer. On "SNL," he portrays many sketch characters, including the popular Leon Phelps, "The Ladies' Man;" Lionel Osbourne, host of the fictional public affairs show "Perspectives;" DJ Chris "Champagne" Garnet, host of "The Quiet Storm;" and "Pimpin' Kyle," sidekick on the recurring "Pimp Chat." In addition, Meadows performs many impersonations including O.J. Simpson, Johnny Cochran, Oprah Winfrey, Ike Turner, Michael Jackson, Don King, former New York City Mayor David Dinkins, the late Sammy Davis Jr. and many others. In 1993, Meadows was nominated for an Emmy Award as part of "SNL's" writing team. Meadows is currently in production to bring his popular character Leon Phelps, "The Ladies' Man," to the big screen in an SNL Studios feature film produced by Lorne Michaels and co-written by Meadows.
Some of Meadows' other film roles include "Coneheads" and "Wayne's World 2." He has appeared on NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno." He also performed on Adam Sandler's comedy album, "They're All Gonna Laugh At You!"
